Course Requirements

All PhD students are required to gain 30 ECTS credits through core and optional coursework. The core credits relate to courses designed to enable research and provide transferable skills. These will include an integrated seminar series and a workshop in chemical communication which will focus on effective literature research, research ethics and the preparation of presentation material for academic review and public consumption. In the case of optional credits these will be related to the topic of the PhD and will be decided by the student in consultation with the supervisor.  In their final year of study all PhD candidates will be required to present their research work to members of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Biology through a combined poster and oral presentation as part of the assessment for another core module.
